Curtis Dean Hutchinson was born April 25, 1974 in Mexicali, Mexico but spent his childhood growing up in El Centro, California. During his last year of high school he fell in love with a fellow male student and subsequently “came out” as gay.

While working in 1997 as a bartender in San Diego, California, Curtis Dean Hutchinson was approached by All Worlds Studio director Mike Donner. A year later, finding himself newly single and heavily in debt, he decided to take his 9” uncut cock and enter the gay porn industry using the name Dean Phoenix.

For the next several years, Dean Phoenix appeared in over two dozen videos – becoming known for his devilish smile and quite the quality uncut top with his curved penis. He retired from the porn industry in late 2000.

In 2004 Colt Studios coaxed Dean Phoenix out of retirement. His role in Buckleroos marked the first time he bottomed on film, earning him a Best Actor trophy as well as a Best Sex Scene trophy at the 2005 GayVN Awards.

Recently, in March 2009, Dean Phoenix was honored for his 13 years of work in the adult industry by induction into the GayVN Hall of Fame.
